‘Meet the Birds’ is a daily event at Muncaster Castle, between March and November and is the main highlight for most visitors.
This display takes place at 2.30 pm on the front lawn of the Castle, weather permitting.
The emphasis of this talk is on conservation, which is aided by some free flying Ambassadors, including owls as well as
diurnal birds of prey. This provides an ideal opportunity for taking photos, as visitors can get ‘up close and
personal’ with some of the ‘stars’.
Following this display, a photo session takes place, which for a small fee allows our audience to hold an owl ‘on the fist’, using a special gauntlet. We provide an instant photo to commemorate the occasion.
When the weather is not suitable, ‘Meet The Birds’ moves to the Stable Yard, where our audience can hear about the work of the World Owl Trust, and still have a ‘close encounter’ with some of the birds.
